After the preliminary investigation police announced that four passengers were inside the Tesla car which was pinned underneath the truck’s trailer. The driver of the car was Samuel Brown while Madison Shaq was sitting in the front seat and two were in the back seat of the car. Both passengers in the front seat of the car, Madison Shaq and Samuel Brown, were pronounced dead right after the accident at the scene. However, two others who were sitting in the back seat of the Tesla car were an 18 years old girl from Montgomery and a 17-year-old girl from Marion.

The injured girl whose age is 18 years with severe injuries was taken to UAB while 17 years old girl with minor injuries was taken to DCH. A person close to the matter said the driver of the car did not know how to drive the car which led to the fatal accident. After knowing about the demise of two students, Paul W. Bryant High School issued a statement that reads, “The Tuscaloosa City Schools will not confirm or release the student’s name because it has not been released by the Tuscaloosa Police Department.”
The school further added, “However, we all are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with the student’s family and friends. This is a difficult time for our students, faculty, and staff. On Monday, students will have access to counselors and social workers to help cope with this tragedy.” Samuel Brown was a football player, he played for RC Hatch while Madison Sims was a member of the track team at Bryant High School in Cottondale.
