Tyre Sampson, a Missouri kid, died on March 24, 2022, after falling from an amusement park ride in Orlando, Florida.
On March 25, 2022, Orange County Sheriff John Mina notified the media at a press conference that the deceased 14-year-old was visiting a family from his hometown of Missouri.
Tyre Sampson died after falling off the Orlando Free Fall attraction at ICON Park at 11:00 p.m., according to a police spokesperson. He was later taken to a nearby hospital.
Tyre’s death, according to police, was unintentional.
When questioned whether police believed the boy’s death was unintentional, John Mina stated that upon speaking with employees, he found “everything to be okay and normal.”
He further stated that since the ride’s debut in December 2021, there have been no reports of “any difficulties with the attraction.”
Authorities will assess whether it was a slip, whether the rider was conscious or not, and whether there were any concerns with the lock in the safety harness as part of their inquiry, according to the sheriff.
According to him, the authorities will determine whether or not it was an accident, which they believe is the case at this time. He went on to clarify that “absolutely no criminal charges have been filed.”
